Katy plays 80 dates of her Witness:The Tour and grosses over $1 million per night. She also serves as a judge on ABC’s American Idol reboot, reportedly earning north of $20 million.
Ranking second on the list is singer Taylor Swift who raked in $80 million, with the launch of her new album Reputation, which sold two million copies worldwide in its opening week.
According to Forbes, the only reason she didn’t claim the top spot on this list is that most of her Reputation Stadium Tour dates fell just outside this year’s scoring period.
Beyoncé rounds out the top three, pulling in $60 million.

Billboard’s 13th annual Women in Music event is set to hold on Dec. 6 in New York City and according to Billboard, Janelle Monáe is one of the people who will be honoured at the said event. Janelle Monáe will accept the trailblazer award.
The Trailblazer award is awarded to a female artist who acts as a music industry pioneer by using her platform to spotlight unheard voices and break ground for future generations of performers.
In the past decade, Monáe has worked to redefine how a black woman can be represented in popular culture. Her album Dirty Computer peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and the record’s sci-fi-inflected accompanying film project of the same name shows she has no limit in exercising her creativity in new ways.

Ariana Grande will be honored with Woman of the Year at Billboard’s 13th annual Women in Music dinner and awards gala in New York next month.
Billboard made the announcement in a statement and noted that the Pop star was picked as the recipient for the award following her’ incredibly successful year and on the heels of her Billboard 200 chart-topping fourth album Sweetener.’
Ariana will be presented with the award on Dec. 6. She joins a history of icons who have been previously honored as Woman of the Year, including Selena Gomez, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.
“Ariana Grande is a star on her own terms, never bending to any particular musical trend or path in the industry,” says Ross Scarano, Billboard’s vp of content.
“Certain in her convictions, she consistently stands up for herself and her decisions in a world that often isn’t hospitable to that sort of strength in young women. She’s got guts, she’s making some of the best music of her career, and she’s absolutely deserving of Woman of the Year.”
The 25-year-old R&B songstress also tweeted ‘thank u @billboard for this honor.’

Victoria Beckham who was known as Posh Spice will not be joining the group on the tour, as she is taking the time to focus on her fashion brand.

In the last few months, American singer and songwriter, Janelle Monae has been cast in no less that three screenplays. Most recent of all is her new role in new Disney‘s live-action adaptation Lady and the Tramp.
According to Chicago Tribune, Monae will voice the character Peg, one of the dogs Lady meets when she is taken to the pound.
Lady and the Tramp tells the tale of an American Cocker Spaniel named Lady who becomes separated from her upper-middle-class family. The movie follows the journey of Lady finding love and more.
Janelle Monae will also appear in the Harriet Tubman biopic UglyDolls animated movie, and Welcome to Marwen.
