Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has shared her coronavirus experiences after confirming that she tested positive.
She added that she infected her children with the viral disease.
The 42-year-old actress made this known on the popular filmmakers’ WhatsApp group, Filmic, while reacting to the debate on how Nollywood can adhere strictly to the health guidelines of COVID-19, before reopening productions on Saturday.
She also said that she was treated by some infectious decease doctors who told her that many people are infected with the virus.
The actress further revealed that she infected her daughter and her asthmatic son with the disease but luckily her husband’s test came back negative.
According to the screen diva, “her world crashed and she felt crazy and empty when her test came back positive.
“I hardly fall ill and so when I left the set and started having chills the next day or so, I knew something wasn’t right. I thought it might be stress.
“This was on Monday, August 3. I waited till Tuesday and it got worse.
“I was shaking uncontrollably and my temperature was going through the roof.
“My spirit told me immediately, this is not malaria or fever and I have been extremely careful and paranoid about this COVID-19 stuff.
“So I told hubby I needed to be tested immediately because I also have a son that has Asthma!

“They came to test me on Wednesday and my result came out on Thursday evening Positive.
“My world crashed. I felt crazy and empty.
“My symptoms were high fever and chills, luckily no other.
“But it was so bad, they contemplated coming to evacuate me as my viral load was high and I wasn’t getting better but God arose for me.
“I went into isolation immediately. We got my result but my daughter started feeling funny.
“So they had to come test the whole family.
“I had infected my daughter and asthmatic son!
“Fortunately, my God showed up for me as my son is asymptotic, so positive but not sick.
“However, my daughter lost her sense of smell and taste and had severe diarrhea but all has stopped now, thank God.”
After two years of living together with a man as wife, popular Yoruba actress, Bose Oladimeji, says she’s had just about enough and walking out fast. Her reason is none other than domestic abuse, which she says has become not only brutally violent but life-threatening as well.
“Yes I’m ready to go, in fact, I’m not with him right now. I just have to run for my life, my life is very precious to me. I can’t just allow someone to kill me like that and I want to address some ladies out there that they should not love a guy because of what he gives them. They should be sure the love is genuine and not be fooled by money and comfort. I’m leaving right now, I need to run away for my life. I need to save myself. My life will be in danger if I continue to stay with him, so I’m leaving right now,” she said in a chat with Potpourri.
Highlighting the gory details of the abuse, Bose Oladimeji said the beatings start whenever he comes home drunk
“Whenever he’s drunk he’s out of his senses and starts misbehaving, beating me. He acts very crazy. Any weapon he sees around he uses it on me but when he is sober he starts to regret whatever he has done. What I’m saying is that in the process of beating me what if I collapse and die or get injured, what will people say?” she said with agony in her eyes.
When asked if she didn’t see it coming, Bose Oladimeji said he pretended and hid his true nature at the beginning of their relationship, explaining how they met and how all the abuse began.
“We meet in the club through a friend and he was well presented and loving, humble and respectful and he spent a lot of money that night but after everything, to be honest, we went home separately. The following day we hooked up and that was how it all started. He was taking good care of me and that was one of the reasons I fell in love with him. But what I found odd about him is the forceful way he has sex with. No foreplay, nothing, just to jump on me and forces his way through. No affection, no cuddling, no romance just brutal sex. I was raped like this most nights, and usually followed by beating and insults,” she added
Though not legally married, they lived together for two years with issues between them. But Bose Oladimeji would not want to drag the children into it.
Regina Daniels always knew she wanted to be a celebrity. Though born in Lagos, she grew up in Asaba, Delta State – the second home of the Nollywood movies in Nigeria.
“I have always had the dream to become a celebrity, to be someone that the world would care about. I would always put in much effort to make sure I get there,” she says in a recent video interview on her YouTube page.
Regina’s mum, Rita Daniels had a heavy influence on the actress like every mum. However, Rita had a special plan to make Regina one of the most-talked-about actresses and it only took less than 14 years for her to succeed. Regina’s thoughts and aspirations are heavily influenced by her mum, whom she sees as her Pathfinder.
Interestingly, Regina really didn’t have to look far for artistic inspiration to become an actress. Her mum, Rita Daniel is a well-known actress-turn-producer for the majority of her childhood in Delta state. She’d tag along to movie sets with her mother till she started getting herself some roles at the age of 6 with the help of her mum.
“I started acting at the tender age of 6 through the help of my mother, she went out of her way to make sure I was in the limelight,” she said.
Soon after featuring in a few movies, Regina’s lifelong dream to become a celebrity started becoming a reality through acting. She starred opposite several established acts including Mercy Johnson Okojie to feature in ‘Dumebi In School’. ‘Dumebi in School’ is a spin-off from the Dumebi series featuring top Nollywood actors, Mercy Johnson and Kenneth Okonkwo. Regina made her mark acting opposite Mercy Johnson starring as her best friend in school.
Despite working hard to remain relevant in Nollywood – with most of her films from Asaba and mostly on Compact Discs – the actress is determined to complete her education. Regina is currently an undergraduate of the Igbinedion University studying Mass Communication.
“I’m studying mass communication at Igbinedion University. I have a passion for entertainment and acting in particular, that is why I opted for the course,” she hinted.
As a child, Regina shuttled between movie sets and school while facing different challenges. However, one of the challenges she remembers vividly was when a director doubted if she will ever make a name for herself as an actress. She said,
“I was once told I can’t act because I was asked to cry on a set and I couldn’t so the director called my mum and told her that he doubts that I can act. My mum had to call me and told me how she believed in me and she also told me how to go about the scene.”
Spending many of her days on movie sets between the ages of 6 and 17 had its side effect on Regina, who says she missed her childhood because she grew up too fast.
“I grew up too fast, I didn’t have the opportunity to explore like other kids because I never had friends, there was no one to mingle with and I would always find myself in the midst of adults trying to read scripts or my book on sets. That is why I’m so passionate about children,” she opened up.

On May 27, 2019, a few days after her traditional marriage to Ned Nwoko, a Nigerian lawmaker and wealthy lawyer, Regina held her annual Children’s Day event tagged ‘Regina Daniels children day concert’. The concert had top Nigerian music acts like Patoranking, Zlatan Ibile, African China and MC Galaxy performing to a multitude at the government field in Agbor area of Delta State. The event further testifies to her love for children.
The cherubic actress sure has high hopes and one of it is featuring in a film alongside Hollywood superstar, Angelina Jolie. Regina says in the next five years, she intends to feature in films that will not only see her act alongside the ‘Mr & Mrs. Smith’ star but also get Oscar nominations.
“By 2024, I want to feature in movies that will be nominated for Oscars alongside my role model, Angelina Jolie. What I love about Jolie are her determination, acting ability, her carriage and most importantly, she’s so sexy,” she said.
From playing lawn tennis to playing the piano and cooking Ogbono soup – a local Nigerian dish – Regina reveals her hobbies and her likes.

“I love playing lawn tennis and I can actually beat Serena Williams. I swim smoothly and sexy. I like playing the piano. I find it very sexy and so matured for girls and I’ve always wanted to play the piano…I cook very well especially traditional soups. My favourite is Ogbono soup but I cook Okro soup, Egusi soup, but I love cooking Ogbono soup more,” she revealed.
Rounding off her over 7 minutes long interview, Regina says she knows many of her fans and critics are waiting to hear her speak about her relationship and or marital status and she will be doing so on her YouTube page in the weeks.
Nse Ikpe-Etim just revealed that she will not be able to have kids due to a condition she had in the past called Adenomyosis, a condition whereby the inner lining of the uterus breaks through the muscle of the uterus. This condition required uterus removal, so Nse Ikpe-Etim had her uterus removed.
“I was told I couldn’t have kids,” she said.
“And so, I had to have a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) to make me have a life again and to stop going through what I was going through. And I’m literarily telling women and men, it really doesn’t matter if you can’t bear children. What really matters is what you would do for the world, for the universe.”
While talking about the time the doctor broke the news to them, she described how her husband had comforted her.
“Tears dropped and then my husband squeezed my hand. It was reassuring there was someone there and it was telling me that this is reality, my reality.”
Nse Ikpe-Etim, before getting married to her husband in 2013 had said that marriage wasn’t for her, but she still admits that she wasn’t born for marriage, but to make an impact in society. The actress says that she always wanted twins, but unfortunately, she had to remove her uterus, and that’s not possible.
“I didn’t think there was any point anymore because my society taught me that I have to be a mother to be appreciated and every time I went online, I would have one troll or two say ‘you never born?’
“But I’m thankful that that didn’t break me.”
Many years back, Nse Ikpe-Etim started a relationship in their teens and called it off. However, they still got back together and got married in 2013 on Valentine’s Day. She and her husband started dating as teenagers, and this is a relationship that they certainly can’t give up on.
Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has revealed that she once had military men pointing their guns at her and she is not bothered about what is said about her on social media.
The actress made this revelation in an interview with the Guardian when she was asked about her feelings concerning the negative comments she received recently on social media recently when she engaged in debate with presidential aide on Twitter. She said:
“I’m not overwhelmed by the reactions, especially the negative ones. I expected them. These ones were just talk. I faced bullets before. I faced military men pointing guns at me, and so, the negative reactions were nothing to me.
And why would I want to ruffle any nest? Who doesn’t want to hide his or her head? Do you know that when I had cause to speak up against previous governments, I was attacked? Not by words alone. But my business, my personal life, my finances were attacked. It is not something I enjoy doing, but sometimes, I worry too like every other normal human being. I worry for my safety. I worry for the safety of people around me.
Omotola added:
People think this is a joke. They think it is funny. They think it is something somebody just wakes up to do. I don’t have a choice than to speak the truth. I live here and I’m a born activist. I’m not just an activist, because I want to talk or I want people to notice me, this is who I’m. I have been like this since I was achild.
Everybody who knew me as a child would tell you that Omotola wouldn’t stand injustice. I’m that person who will speak out. Sometimes, I fight against myself too. I am like shut up, shut up; you don’t have to say everything. Keep quiet. I guess you can’t fight whom God has made you.

Many of these diseases, such as diarrhoea can be prevented by proper hand washing habits and wide scale hygiene education. This is a major motivation for the setting up of the Clean Naija Initiative.
Skin’ the full feature documentary by Beverly Naya has been chosen as the opening film of the 2019 iREP documentary film festival.
Naya made the announcement on her official Instagram account few days ago and later confirmed it to Pulse in an interview.
“I mean this is an honour for us and a very big step for ‘Skin’. Our documentary was selected and has been chosen as the opening documentary film,” Naya told Pulse.
The documentary featured Eku Edewor, Diana Yekini, Phyno andBobrisky as some of the Nigerian celebrities that shared their views on colourism.
‘Skin’ is a documentary on colourism by Beverly Naya directed by Etim Effiong.
The annual international documentary film festival celebrates the best of documentary films in Africa and beyond.

Few years ago, actress Foluke Daramola-Salako, revealed she was raped when she was much younger. In a new interview with Punch, the actress recounted how the experience made her become a better mother to her own daughter.
“I always enlighten my daughter about how some men can be when it comes to sex. Even when I am not around her, she always cautions men when they try to touch her in a way she is not comfortable with. She tells me when she feels harassed by a man. She is out of the country at the moment, and people always call me to ask me how I trained her.
“In my days as a young woman, I couldn’t discuss sex with my mum. Even till now, I still cannot do that because of the orientation I had as a young girl. If my daughter should get deflowered today, she will tell me because we are friends. I started discussing sex education with my daughter when she was six. I didn’t feel it was too early because she had a rapid growth.
“I was raped by my tenant because he thought I was older than my actual age. I am comfortable with my daughter being around men because I have educated her,” she said.
Foluke went on to say that the Federal government needs to enact a law whereby rapists are killed once convicted.
“I believe the government should pass a law against rape; rapists should be killed when they are caught. I don’t call myself a rape victim, but a rape victor. Rape victims become a shadow of themselves; they have no form of self-esteem, some of them even take their lives. When it happened to me, I thank God I had friends who helped me recover fast. “When I came out to say it, people were shocked, but I am happy that after my interview, people started coming out to talk about their experience. It has been happening; it is just that people don’t talk about it. An abuser is always a product of an abuse. I’ll advise parents to always pay attention to their children and listen to them,” she said
