This news is heartbreaking, but It seems it is one of those marriage breakups where couples choose their mental & emotional wellbeing over the society , and let sanity and safety guide their judgement.

Kim Kardashian and her husband of seven years, Kanye West calling it quits is truly a reflection of societal pressure on marriages, especially for celebrities whose lives are in the open.

When news broke in January that the couple, who became engaged on October 21, Kardashian’s 33rd birthday, were amicably going their separate ways. Kim was reportedly working with a top divorce attorney, Laura Wasser. As at that time, Kim was yet to file for the divorce, and now the report says it’s official.

According to TMZ, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are splitting amicably and they’ve civilly agreed to part ways. Neither party has yet to address the news of their separation publicly.

During their 7 year marriage, the couple welcomed four children together, daughter North born in 2013, a son Saint, who was born in 2015, daughter Chicago born in 2018 and son Psalm born in 2019. TMZ reports that Kim has asked the courts for joint legal and physical custody of the 4 kids.

“Kim is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s 4 kids. Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ Kanye is fine with the joint custody arrangement, and we’re told both Kim and Ye are committed to co-parenting together.”

It appears that the couple signed a prenuptial agreement. A source tells TMZ that they are already far along in reaching a property settlement agreement.

Recently, Page Six reported that Kim is “trying to get Kanye to turn over the Calabasas house to her because that’s where the kids are based and growing up. That is their home. She owns all the land and adjoining lots around the house but Kanye owns the actual house. They’ve both put a lot of money into renovating it.”

Kim and Kanye tied the knot in 2014 after being friends for a long time. Kanye’s health reportedly put a strain on their relationship according to Page Six.

The rapper has been in the news over the years for his struggle with bipolar disorder and Kim has supported him through it. But a source tells Page Six that Kim has “grown up a lot” and is more serious about the divorce this time.”

She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign. Meanwhile, Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy stuff, and she’s just had enough of it.”

Kim Kardashian West makes an amazing step for a woman we met years ago on reality TV.  She changed her focus to prison reforms so dramatically?

On her kids, she said they see so much of how she studies, go to school like them and how she opens up to them about what she does. They’re so young now, but seeing their mom make a difference means everything.

As Kim matures, its obvious she’s realizing how her A-list status can make a real impact on the lives of others.

On UsMagazine, Kim explained, “They (her children) just see so much, you know, they see that I have to study, they see that I go to school, just like they go to school and we talk about little things like that. I have always been really open and honest with my kids about what I’m doing and what’s going on, and I think they’ll appreciate it, definitely when they get older.”

She said her kids have met people she has helped, thanks to her work.

Perhaps Kim wants her children to grow up in a world where they know it’s up to all of us to demand action when things seem unjust.

This is a good lesson that it’s never too late to embark on a new path.

Her father was an attorney, and as The Things reported, that was influential in sparking her interest in the area of law. She may not have followed this passion earlier, but she has now taken action and has followed in his footsteps.

Will any of Kim’s kids follow her lead? Which is a good example been laid out for them.

Kim Kardashian has revealed she underwent five operations within a year and a half to ‘fix the damage’ caused by pregnancy following the births of her children, North, and Saint West.

The mother of four said when she was pregnant with her first child, North, she had a condition called preeclampsia or toxemia. After delivering the daughter her placenta didn’t come out but grew inside her.

After she managed to deliver her second child, North, Kim said she underwent five operations to ‘fix the damage’ caused by the pregnancy.

Speaking in a video for her new SKIMS campaign, Kim said: ‘When I was pregnant with my daughter North, I had a condition called preeclampsia or toxemia, which is basically when the mom’s organs start to shut down.

‘The only way to get rid of that is to deliver the baby. At 34 and a half weeks, I had to go into emergency labour – they induced me. North was four pounds. She was almost six weeks early.’

She went on to explain that after delivering her daughter, her placenta never came out but grew inside her uterus, warning: ‘That is what women die from in childbirth.

She continued: ‘After my daughter was born, I still continued to do the process of freezing my eggs.

‘I was able to get pregnant through that with my son Saint, and then I had two embryos left. I had the same condition, same awful delivery that I had with my first daughter.

‘After that, I had to have five different operations within a year and a half to fix the damage that all of that did on the inside.’

She recalled: ‘I asked my doctors, ‘Can I do it one more time?’ And they were like, “We won’t even put an embryo in you — that would be like malpractice”.’

Despite the challenges, Kim said all the struggles were ‘worth it’. She concluded: ‘I’m so thankful for my beautiful kids, no matter how they came to me — they came to me. I’m so thankful for surrogates. I’m really thankful for my family. I grew up with so many siblings. I just loved being in a big environment.

‘I would have gone through the same pain and back for the result of having my babies. It was all worth it.’

Kim Kardashian’s other two children, Psalm and Chicago West were carried by a surrogate.

The movie, titled, “Fashion Week” will be adapted from a 130-page graphic novel French writer and director Joann Sfarhas written but is yet to published, the producers said on Thursday.

Kim was threatened with a gun, tied up and gagged in the bathroom of a luxury residence in Paris, where she was staying during fashion week in October 2016.

Despite the arrests of mostly well-known French career gangsters, only one piece of jewellery has been recovered. One of the team of five robbers who forced their way into Kardashian’s apartment dropped a diamond-encrusted cross worth 30,000 euros while they were fleeing the scene.

Sfar is one of France’s best known comic and graphic novel authors.

He said that as the graphic novel, the movie would be about “a group of old school crooks who eye up the jewellery of an influential celebrity and find themselves swept up in the whirlwind of the fashion world.”

Sfar admitted it was “liberally based on the raid on Kim Kardashian”.

Waist trainers are worn to reshape the waistline and shrink the stomach. Waist-shaping corsets aren’t new – in fact, tightlacing (also known as corset training) was quite common in the late Victorian era and came into existence in around 16th century.

However, the Kardashians and other celebrities popularized the trend with pictures of their tightly-cinched tiny waists and the body-shaping movement kicked off. People nowadays wear it for a quick fix. Unfortunately, a waist trainer isn’t going to magically give a naturally thinner woman a curvy body, that’s for sure. Some women also wear it during workouts. It might make you slim at the waist and lead to temporary weightloss, but it doesn’t get rid of body fat in the long run.

So what exactly is waist training and what are the implications? Here’s everything you need to know.

1. Skin irritation

One of the most common effects of waist training is skin irritation. Having something so tightly fastened to your skin for a prolonged amount of time will cause chafing that can cause serious discomfort. You may think a rash is a cheap price to pay for the ‘perfect’ hourglass figure, but you may not feel the same way if it leads to infection and your shape is the same as it always was.

Dr. Galyna, an aesthetics specialist says: “Tightness and repeated use of your waist trainer can cause cramps, discomfort and pinching if it is too tight. This restriction and tightness around the waist could interfere with the appearance and general health of your skin.”

2. Organ shifting

“With waist training, the upper organs move upwards, and the lower organs shift downwards. This can then put a similar pressure on the abdomen – which has been known to cause constipation,” says Dr. Galyna.

3. Acid reflux

“The shifting of organs can also increase the chances of heartburn as your stomach shifts up beyond your diaphragm causing acid reflux,” says Dr. Galyna.

By compressing your mid-section, the waist trainer is also pressing on your stomach up higher increasing your chance of heartburn and indigestion. Not only can it cause pain, but recurring acid reflux can cause long-term damage by eroding the walls of the esophagus.

4. Causes Dehydration

“You might see an increase in body temperature and excessive sweating whilst ‘waist training’ during exercise, which can cause dehydration,” says Dr Galyna. “To minimise any symptoms, we would advise people to stay fully hydrated.”

5. Breathing

As well as putting pressure on your stomach, your entire internal network is being pushed to fit the shape of the cincher. By restricting your diaphragm, you’re reducing the amount of oxygen you can take it. This can leave you feeling short of breath, light-headedness and even cause you to faint. To this, Dr. Galyna says that “the quality and depth of your breathing, particularly if wearing your ‘waist trainer’ while exercising, is also impacted.”

6. Bruising

Unlike traditional corsets, modern waist trainers don’t have the same strength to affect the shape of your bones. This will means you will be left with bone bruises as the trainer compresses your body. You may not think this sounds that bad but bone bruises are significantly more painful and long lasting than regular bruises. With social media users getting younger and younger, there is a far greater risk to children whose bones have not formed fully as cinchers could actually affect the development of their bone structure. Hence it is not advised to be used by people who are still growing.

7. Numbness

Not only will your blood flow be limited by the compression, your nerves may also be affected. This could cause you to experience pins and needles or numbness in your legs.

8. Affects back muscles

Prolonged waist training means your abdominal muscles aren’t as active, even if you are exercising regularly. Dr. Galyna points out that the waist trainer has a potential to weaken the abdominal muscles as one isn’t using the muscles for support when the trainer is on.

“The corset provides the support, not the muscles, and if the muscles are not used they will waste.”

9. Restricts eating

Waist trainers are designed to cinch at the waist, which can lead to an unhealthy, unsafe decrease in the amount of food you eat because you’ll feel fuller, faster.

10. Psychological addiction

Although a waist cincher will make your waist appear slimmer while you’re wearing it, every time you take it off your unhappiness with your shape will be perpetuated through comparison. Your brain associates the perfect figure with the waist trainer. This false hope can even leave you with the belief that diet and exercise is no longer necessary, as well as becoming addicted to the wearing the cincher. In the long-run, you’ll most find the whole experience rather distressing when the desired results are not met.

“There is anecdotal evidence wearing a corset can be addictive to those people with an obsessive personality,” says Lemon.

Reality tv star and beauty entrepreneur, Kim Kardashian opened up about her struggle with Psoriasis for the past eight years.

In an in-depth essay she shared on Kourtney Kardashian’s website, Poosh, Kim revealed she first experienced the condition in her twenties, but it came back strongly in her thirties and this year, it was at its all-time high.

According to Poosh :

Earlier this year is when it got extremely bad – it covered my whole face and a majority of my entire body.

Today I’m sharing with Poosh my journey with the autoimmune conditions psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, including what’s worked for me and how I’ve adjusted my life since being diagnosed.

It’s been 13 years since I experienced my first psoriasis flare-up…. I am the only child my mom passed down her autoimmune issue to. Lucky me, lol. When I was 25, I had my first psoriasis flare-up.

I got a common cold, and since psoriasis is an autoimmune condition, this triggered it. It was all over my stomach and legs. Luckily, in my apartment complex at the time, my neighbour was a dermatologist.

I have learned to live with this spot without using any creams or medication—I just deal. Sometimes I cover it up and sometimes I don’t. It doesn’t really bother me

If you have psoriasis, you can’t let it ruin your life or get the best of you. You have to do what you can to make sure you are comfortable but not let it take over.

I hope my story can help anyone else with an autoimmune disease feel confident that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Cyntoia Brown was only 16 when she was sentenced to life in prison after shooting the 43-year-old man who tried to rape her.

By next Wednesday, 31-year-old Cyntoia Brown will be freed from prison. After spending 15 years in Tennessee Prison for Women, Brown’s sentence was commuted by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam in Januaryand she will be able to fully enjoy her freedom on August 7.

“I am thankful for all the support, prayers, and encouragement I have received. We truly serve a God of second chances and new beginnings. The Lord has held my hand this whole time and I would have never made it without Him. Let today be a testament to His Saving Grace,” Brown said in a statement.

“Thank you to my family for being a backbone these past 14 years. I am thankful to my lawyers and their staffs, and all the others who, for the last decade have freely given of their time and expertise to help me get to this day. I love all of you and will be forever grateful.”

Brown’s case made huge waves in 2017 when celebrities like Rihanna and Kim Kardashian spoke about how tragic and unfair her story was. A PBS documentary kicked off years of advocacy for Brown’s release.

In January, Haslam admitted that the sentence was too harsh and granted her clemency before he left office.

“Imposing a life sentence on a juvenile that would require her to serve at least 51 years before even being eligible for parole consideration is too harsh, especially in light of the extraordinary steps Ms. Brown has taken to rebuild her life,” Haslam said.

Brown was a runaway who had been repeatedly abused physically and sexually by men in her life. At the time, she was living with a pimp who was sexually assaulting her while forcing her to prostitute herself for money. She was sold in a Burger King parking lot to Nashville realtor Johnny Allen, who was acting erratically and repeatedly approached her menacingly after raping her in his home.

Allen repeatedly showed her all of the guns in his home and, fearing for her life, she shot Allen in the head as he stood over her. Brown repeatedly said she was acting in self-defense.

Despite being underage and having a history of sexual assault, local news outlets at the time portrayed Brown as been dishonest while trying to protect Allen’s reputation. She was given a life sentence in 2004 and subsequent court cases repeatedly shot down her attempts to reduce her sentence.

As more people heard about what actually happened to Brown, dozens of internet campaigns were started to help secure her release from prison. Activists were initially worried because Tennessee’s ultra-conservative Supreme Court decided to uphold her sentence, saying she had to serve five decades to be eligible for parole.

“Thank you, Governor Haslam, for your act of mercy in giving me a second chance. I will do everything I can to justify your faith in me,” she said in a statement in January.

“I want to thank those at the Tennessee Department of Corrections who saw something in me worth salvaging, especially Ms. Connie Seabrooks for allowing me to participate in the Lipscomb LIFE Program. It changed my life. I am also grateful to those at the Tennessee Department of Corrections who will work with me over the next several months to help me in the transition from prison to the free world.”

During her time in prison, Brown has been a model citizen, even getting her Bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb University in May. There is a GoFundMe that has been started to provide Brown with financial support as she transitions out of prison life. She will remain on parole for at least another 10 years.

“With God’s help, I am committed to live the rest of my life helping others, especially young people,” Brown said.

“My hope is to help other young girls avoid ending up where I have been.”

Kim Kardashian is set to rename her shapewear brand – Kimono Solutionwear – following backlash accusing her of appropriating the Japanese culture.

Using the hashtag #KimOhNo, people on social media expressed their agitation over Kim Kardashian naming her shapewear ‘Kimono’, insisting that the name was disrespectful to the Japanese culture.

The Kimono is a traditional Japanese attire won on very special occasions and according to the Japanese, Kim Kardashian had no right to use the name for her shapewear.

Responding to the backlash, Kim had said that her shapewear is ‘built with inclusivity and diversity at its core’ and she is ‘incredibly proud of what’s to come’. She also insisting on not changing the name and went ahead to trademark the name.

‘Filing a trademark is a source identifier that will allow me to use the word for my shapewear and intimates line but does not preclude or restrict anyone, in this instance, from making kimonos or using the word kimono in reference to the traditional garment,’ Kim had said.

However, Kim Kardashian has had a change of mind and has decided to launch her Solutionwear brand under a new name.

She also broke the news on her social media handles saying:

Being an entrepreneur and my own boss has been one of the most rewarding challenges I’ve been blessed with in my life. What’s made it possible for me after all of these years has been the direct line of communication with my fans and the public. I am always listening, learning and growing – I so appreciate the passion and varied perspectives that people bring to me.

When I announced the name of my shapewear line, I did so with the best intentions in mind. My brands and products are built with inclusivity and diversity at their core and after careful thought and consideration, I will be launching my Solutionwear brand under a new name.

I will be in touch soon. Thank you for your understanding and support always.
