Alicia Keys will be for the second time in a roll host the 62nd edition of the Grammy awards.

According to Recording Academy, the Grammy award winner will be returning to its stage for the second time later in January 2020. The music star while reacting to the news said she thought it was a one-time thing.

“At first I did think last year was a one-time thing but when the opportunity came back around there was no question about returning as the host of the Grammys award. Last year was such a powerful experience for me. Not only did I feel the love in the room, but I felt it from around the world and it confirmed the healing and unifying power of music,” she said.

During the last awards show, Alicia showed out by simultaneously playing two pianos, and brought the audience to tears during her opening monologue with influential ladies like #MichelleObama and Jada Pinkett Smith.

Nigerian Afro-soul singer and songwriter, Aramide Sarumoh, has been appointed into the Washington DC’s chapter of the Recording Academy Board of Governors.

The singer who has been an active voting member of the Recording Academy for several years and previously served on the committees of the Academy took to her Instagram page to announce this major achievement.

She said, “I am proud to have been elected as Board of Governor and look forward to supporting the cause of the Recording Academy. “The Recording Academy plays a vital role in supporting and advocating for artists, producers, songwriters, and other professionals working in the music industry”.

Aramide shot into limelight in 2006 when she contested at Nigeria’s music talent hunt show, Star Quest, where her team came third.

In 2015, she won the award for the best female vocal performance at the Headies following the release of her first single, `Iwo Nikan’.

From being a fan at the stands, to having a seat at the table 21-year-old two-time Grammy Award-winning songwriter,  Nija Charles inspires.

The 2015 Union Township High School graduate wrote the hooks for several Cardi B hits, including“Ring” with Kehlani, and equally wrote two songs for Jay Z and Beyonce’s Grammy-winning album“Everything Is Love”

Nija Charles, was born on October 20, 1997. She began her professional music career in 2017 writing songs for Beyonce and Jay-Z, Cardi B and Kehlani, Jason Derulo and Chris Brown.

She is signed to Universal Music Publishing Group of Music at NYU, producers were sending her music to write to.

Nija started out making beats from her dorm room and has written for Beyoncé and Cardi B and works with some of the top producers in the game.

Alicia Keys is set to debut as the host of the 2019 Grammy Awards.

The multi-award winning singer and 15 time Grammy Award winner has been announced as the host of the 61st edition of the music awards, the first time she will take the center stage at the glamorous event.

This was announced by the organizers on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 via the official Instagram handle [@recordingacademy]

”IT’S OFFICIAL! 15-time GRAMMY winner, aliciakeys will host the 61st #GRAMMYs⁠⁠, marking her first time as master of ceremonies for Music’s Biggest Night.”

In the video shared, Alicia Keys accepted the honour as she invited everyone to ”come vibe with her as she host the grammys.”

In a subsequent video posted on her Youtube Page, Alicia further explained how much this means to her,

“I know what it feels like to be on that stage and I know what it feels like to be proud of the work that you’ve put in and to be recognized for it. And I just feel grateful that I’m able to bring that light and that energy,” she says in the video.

“This is a first. It’s a first and it’s amazing and I think it’s perfect timing. Honestly, I’m really excited.

I feel really good about it because I feel like it’s the perfect opportunity for me to give the light back and lift people up, especially all the young women that are nominated,” she continues, calling out the high number of female nominees this year. “Like, to me, it feels like sister vibes.”

Alicia Keys will take over from last year’s host James Corden.

The 2019 Grammys will hold on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony was held on February 12, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Carlifonia, and as usual, some of the celebrities brought their fashion A-game.

Singer Rihanna, arrived fashionably late in a two-piece crop top and ball skirt combo by Armani Prive, while Jennifer Lopez was a dreamy goddess in a lavender-colored Ralph & Russo couture gown.
