Singer/Fashion Designer, Mo’cheddah, admonishes youth to stop complaining about the government of the day and start doing something to make the country a better place. She said this through an instagram post.

Read post below;

“Let’s stop being hypocritical, we live in SAD times, with bad leaders and uninterested youths, what have you done for your country? Do you clean the outside of your gates on Thursdays as the Lagos state government suggests? You live in million Naira homes driving million Naira cars and you can not make drainage in your Own estate? You are waiting on “the GOVERNMENT “(COUGH) LOL… Yes I will laugh! Because that is all I can do!! I’m tired of crying for this country ! I’m tired of getting my heart broken by her over and over!! When we are told to gather and use our voices we don’t.majority of the people that do go for this awareness walks are either doing it for their own selfish interest or going for the music (please we need to stop with the concerts). When they invited you to go for TOP 100 Nigerian youths , pls what did you talk about??? You stood there, drank champagne and took pictures for us to see .. So please move along!!! Stop twitting and Instagraming and do something!!!! Those that are quick to say it’s not funny will jump at any opportunity given by the government to come appear or perform, they will gladly smile and take pictures??? When was the last time you had a serious conversation about OUR COUNTRY with someone in power??? But no you pose for a selfie and come cry wolf on Instagram. Why can’t we let a new Nigeria trend!! When TUface suddenly pulled out from going for a protest we sat back and said nothing!! When Audu Maikori was arrested we sat back and said nothing!!! We dint let that trend!! We didn’t use our voices we stayed mute!!! But if we need a MEME to trend it will!! WAKE UP NIGERIA!!! …. it will remain the SAME if WE the So called MILLENNIALS sit back and make memes all day!!!if you ask any youth of today who and who is having a twitter feud they will tell you, but I bet they don’t know who their local government chairman is.. our leaders just laugh at us because they know WE “tomorrows leaders” are not ready!!! You have no right to complain.. do you pay taxes?As you lay your bed.. we cannot keep depending on oil revenue, we need a tax culture… the government needs to be decentralized, power has to come from the states. Power needs to be decentralized in order to empower the state. we need to grow from the bottom , the state should be contributing to the center not the other way round !! I love my country I can die for my country but I can’t do it alone!!! We all need to wake UP!! The power is in our OWN HANDS!!! WAKE UP! READ UP! GET INVOLVED #FIGHTFORNIGERIA #ISTANDWITHNIGERIA #SAVENIGERIA #IWILLDOSOMETHING.”

Singer, Jodie, who gave birth in April 2016, took to her Instagram page to write an emotional post about her son with ‘special needs’.

See post below;

Lately I’ve been pondering on how my life turned around since God “shocked” me into *Godsciousness* through events in my life – especially by giving me a special son.

My boy is special – not because of what the medical system thinks, but because he actually IS special indeed.

Dear special parent, sometimes, God wraps gifts in cases we may not understand at first, but as the gift unfolds, we are struck by the awesomeness and mercy of God.

I used to ask “Why me?” (in sorrow) months ago, but now, I ask “Why me?” out of deep gratitude.

I don’t care what you think may have happened to cause your child to be the way he/she is at the moment – you may say it’s the hospital that caused it; or the doctors may have said it’s genetic; or maybe a sickness shortly after he/she was born… whether it was avoidable or unavoidable: whatever the case you think it is, remember this, “God has ALLOWED it to happen”. Please submit to Him… the PURPOSE will be accomplished.

Follow Him one day at a time – that is what I am doing o! As you go through, things will be clearer. That child is God’s child FIRST and be assured God loves him/her more than you do. He laid down His life for that child and we are all meant for Him. (Rev 4:11)

This text is not for everyone, but if it is meant for you, please take it to heart.

While in South Africa to promote her book ”On Becoming”, Toke Makinwa was interviewed on ”Real Talk With Anele” and while answering questions about her failed marriage, she described Maje as a great guy.

She said,

“I have no regrets because I feel like everything happened the way it was supposed to happen for me to get to where I am now because if I did not get married, perhaps I’d be that girl who will always wonder what it felt like to be married to him.

He’s a great guy, we’re just not great people for each other.

Nollywood actress, Remi Surutu has taken to her Instagram page to pen an emotional tribute to her daughter, Ayomikun, who recently passed away from complications from sickle cell.

She wrote,

Dearest AYOMIKUN,

As a mother and child, it is natural we share both physical and abstract tours, laughter, pain and compliments; but we honestly shared a bond I cannot find a most appropriate adjective for it yet.

As your friend, It has never been in my intentions to see you go through any form of pain. But as human, pain can emanate from any form and when your pain began, I have always sought God’s favour to transfer your pains so you will be fully lively as you want. And in your pain, you were strong for us. We went everywhere together.

You were my immediate younger sister and remain one of the best things that ever happened to me. My confidante. You have never forsaken me or your sister. Dupe and Demilade will miss you.

I will keep your memories forever; and in all honesty, I can only console myself with the belief that I will see you again my beautiful, precious daughter.

Please rest well till we meet to part no more my love. My prayers and affection for you will be eternal.

I have said thank you to all that are helping to give you a lasting resting place.

Ayomikun was laid to rest on July 6, 2017. May her soul continue to rest in perfect peace.

Yes, the perpetrator is still at large after jumping bail and fleeing the country to America with his mistress even with court case still on but one thing is sure, I am strong, I am happy, I am free, I have the love of my beautiful angels and most importantly, I AM A SURVIVOR. This is my life after DV. My God is awesome.”

American actress, Gabrielle Union, took to her Instagram account on Fathers Day to share a younger photo of her dad and an emotional story about how her father was once harrassed by cops while he was going to work.

Read her post below;
“My Dad is about 19 in this picture & fully believed in the American dream. That if you just work hard & do the right thing, serve your country, marry a nice girl, you will be considered special, different. So he joined the Army, got out & married a nice girl and went to work and started a family. Both my parents went to college at night & cleaned the daycare late at night in exchange for free childcare. They moved to a “good neighborhood” & slowly earned college degrees & got promoted. All the while raising their 3 girls as well as other kids who needed homes and guidance. He also coached our sports teams, mentored kids, officiated games… and none of it mattered.
On his way to work one morning driving out of our perfectly planned suburban community in his Mercedes and rocking a tailored 3 piece suit, my father was stopped, pulled out of his car in front of the entire neighborhood and put spread eagle on the ground with guns pointed at him. They said a convict had just escaped from a nearby jail. The guy they were looking for was 20. My dad was balding in his 40s. When I see this picture of my father I cannot help but think of #PhilandoCastile a good man who did all the right things and was a father figure to so many…and none of it mattered. On this day and every day know that we are not threatening by birth. Do not demonize our breath. We are not to be feared. Our lives, our children, our love… IT MATTERS! We matter. #BlackLivesMatter”
