Hollywood actress Charlize Theron has never hidden the fact that her mother killed her father in self-defense when Charlize was a teenager, but she hasnt spoken much about the experience publicly. Now, the Bombshell star opened up to NPR about what exactly happened that night.

During the interview, Charlize said that her father, Charles Theron, was drunk and threatened her and her mother Gerda one night in 1991 when Charlize was 15.

“My father was so drunk that he shouldnt have been able to walk when he came into the house with a gun,” she said. “My mom and I were in my bedroom, leaning against the door because he was trying to push through the door.”

“So both of us were leaning against the door from the inside to have him not be able to push through. He took a step back and just shot through the door three times,” she said. “None of the bullets ever hit us, which is just a miracle.”

Gerda ended up shooting her husband and killing him to save herself and her daughter. “In self-defense, she ended the threat,” Charlize said.

The actress also said her father was a “very sick man” who “was an alcoholic all my life.”

“I only knew him one way, and that was as an alcoholic… It was a pretty hopeless situation,” she continued. “Our family was just kind of stuck in it. And the day-to-day unpredictability of living with an addict is the thing that you sit with and have kind of embedded in your body for the rest of your life, more than just this one event of what happened one night.”

Watch Charlize talk about that fateful night and how therapy has helped her over the years:

However, Charlize also said that, “of course, I wish what happened that night would have never happened. It’s unfortunately what happens when you don’t get to the root of these issues.”

Charlize added that she shares her story of family violence “with a lot of people.”

“I’m not ashamed to talk about it, because I do think that the more we talk about these things, the more we realize we are not alone in any of it,” she said. “I think, for me, it’s just always been that this story really is about growing up with addicts and what that does to a person.”

The actress who recently hosted Rape Foundation’s annual brunch, took a moment to share her own experience with sexual molestation as a child.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, during the event, the actress revealed that while she was asleep one night, her mother’s boyfriend came into her room at night and she felt him fondling her breasts.

She said her supportive mother ended the relationship when she reported to her what had happened.

The 61-year-old mother to teenage twins said: “Fortunately, it wasn’t a complete assault, it was fondling, but it was devastating enough for a child who’s 12 or 13. To have a mother who could tell as soon as light broke that this happened and for her to expel him [meant a lot]. That she heard me, believed me, and did something about it, I think was so empowering for me as a young teen, as a young woman.”

In her new role, the How to Get Away with Murder leading lady will join heavyweight A-list stars including Celine DionHelen MirrenEva LongoriaElle FanningAja Naomi KingNikolaj Coster-Waldau and Camila Cabello, among others, representing the brand. The appointment builds on the brand’s mission to reflect the diversity of the modern world through spokeswomen, encouraging beauty inclusivity, self-worth and empowering people everywhere.

Davis says that she grew up not having people who told her that she was beautiful or smart and that it’s important to build confidence in women from childhood.

As a young girl, I wasn’t always told that I was smart, beautiful, or worthy. I worked tremendously hard to get where I am today – overcoming feelings of doubt to become a woman who truly believes I am ‘worth it’ in every way. I believe it’s so important to build confidence in women from a young age, and to role model diverse perspectives of beauty. To now be part of a brand that has been championing women’s worth for more than 40 years and to use my voice to help empower others is truly surreal.

Global Brand President of L’Oréal Paris Delphine Viguier-Hovasse says that they are thrilled to have Viola join them. She also adds that her tenacity, authenticity and bold spirit resonate with and inspire so many people.

We are thrilled to welcome Viola as a member of our family. Viola’s tenacity, authenticity and bold spirit resonate with and inspire so many people. She challenges the status quo in all aspects of life and her drive to succeed has proven itself time after time – she leads by example and is the perfect conduit to elevate our core message, ‘Because I’m Worth It.

Making her brand debut at an event in New York City yesterday, Viola will appear in TV, print and digital advertising campaigns for Age Perfect beginning later this month.

Bella Thorne has opened up on how she was molested her whole life’ in an emotional Instagram post.

Back in 2018, the former Disney Channel actress, 21, revealed  that she was sexually abused till she was 14.

Bella Thorne, 21, who was once in relationship with YouTuber Tana Mongeau  and musician Mod Sun started her post by wondering why she ‘needs’ validation from everyone but mostly men.

Bella Thorne reveals how she was

Sharing  topless photos of herself, she wrote: ‘What is wrong with me? Why do I always need Validation from everyone but mostly men…’ she started, ‘What is wrong with me? Why do I always need Validation from everyone but mostly men…

Seeming to address her relationship, she said: ‘Everyone keeps telling me to be single, be alone, and make your self happy. But All those things sound so fucking scary to me. all I want is him. I want him to hold me, I want him to love me, I want him to tell me it’s ok, I want him to look me in the eyes and let me know I’m accepted.’

‘Why? Because I can’t accept myself. For some reason in my head I’m just not fucking good enough. Not good enough for him or Her or anyone else.

Bella Thorne reveals how she was

‘And if it’s not him I just look for the ‘next’ him, or her Why can’t I just look for the next me? Find me and accept me.

‘Was it because I was molested my whole life,’ she wondered.

‘Exposed to sex at such a young age it’s all I know how to offer to the world…or is it because I was raised to think I wasn’t good enough. Not good enough for her or anything else,’ Bella said.

‘But it doesn’t matter what happened to me.. What matters is whats happening to me right now. I can’t blame my childhood, in fact I can’t blame anyone for anything.

‘All I can do is blame me. I blame me for not loving myself. I blame me for not thinking I’m attractive, I blame me for putting this on everyone around me. Expecting people to love me enough for me to love myself,’ Bella wrote.

Bella Thorne reveals how she was

But at the end of the day that will never happen. Because the only way to get to your end goal is to work through it. Not around or above or try and find a cheat code so you don’t have to hurt as much.

‘You have to hurt in this world. Hurting, loving, and accepting. That’s what our emotional world lays on. Right now I only have one of those things. Can you guess what it is? Hurting. Right now I only hurt…but I’m not hurting for other people no I’m only hurting myself. By not loving me and by not accepting me.’

This poem is about mommy and daddy and me and you,‘ she concluded.

Lashana Lynch has been cast in the upcoming “James Bond” film as the franchise’s first-ever black and female 007.

According to the Daily Mail, “James Bond 25” will introduce the new secret agent in a “pivotal scene.” While Daniel Craig will still portray the titular charcter, Lynch’s character has taken over the iconic number 007 after Bond’s retirement.

“There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says, ‘Come in 007,’ and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful, and a woman. It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman” an anonymous source told the Mail.

The upcoming “Bond” film will be directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and co-written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who wrote BBC’s acclaimed comedy “Fleabag” and Golden Globe-winning thriller “Killing Eve.”
