Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly quit all social media permanently due to the “hate” they have encountered on the platforms.

A source close to the couple told The Times of London that they have “no plans” to use social media for their new company Archewell and are “very unlikely” to resume use of their personal accounts.

The couple are understood to have become disillusioned by the “hate” they encountered on social media.

The pair use their Instagram account, @sussexroyal, which has over 10.4 million followers to share public health advice on the coronavirus as well as updates on their charity work, but they have not posted since March 2020.

It comes after Meghan spoke of the “almost unsurvivable” pain she suffered at the hands of online trolls last year.

In an interview with Californian high school students for Mental Health Day last October, the Duchess said she was “the most trolled person in the world” in 2020 – and urged anyone suffering to speak out.

“I’m told that in 2019 I was the most trolled person in the entire world, male or female.

“I don’t care if you’re 15 or you’re 25 – if people are saying things about you that aren’t true, what that does to your mental and emotional health is so damaging.”

The Duchess also spoke of the dangers of social media for teen mental health, adding: “Yes it’s a great place to connect but it’s also a place where there is a lot of disconnection.”

The news marks another departure from royal life for the couple, as other members of the Royal Family regularly use Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to promote their official and charity work.

In March 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made headlines when stepped down as senior royals.

A soldier stationed at the famed Fort Bliss Barracks in the US, will be charged with the sexual assault of fellow soldier Asia Graham, who was found dead in the barracks on New Years Eve.

US Army officials have announced that a private first class soldier will be arraigned and tried for the sexual assault, but have not released the suspect’s name. Graham, 19, also a private first class, was a human resource specialist from North Carolina.

Army officials say they do not suspect foul play in her death .

The base command said it promptly began an investigation and made sure Graham and the accused soldier were not living in the same building or working in the same areas.

Her mother believes the military failed to protect Graham after she came forward.

‘I was with the military life I spoke very highly about the military. But in her situation, I think the leadership failed her,’ Asia’s mom Nicole Graham said to WBTV.

‘Do I think she was murdered? No. But do I think if it would have handled better from the beginning, I think she would have had the proper help before and she would have been OK.’

Gen. Sean Bernabe, the commander of the 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, has ordered a military trial for the suspect on the sexual assault case.

‘Maj. Gen. Bernabe is committed to maintaining the integrity and impartiality of the military justice system. As a reminder to the Fort Bliss community, charges are merely accusations, and all Americans are presumed innocent until proven guilty,’ an Army statement said. At the arraignment the judge will schedule a date for a military trial, referred to by the military as a court martial. Her cause of death is unknown at the moment as the Army and her family wait for the results of an autopsy.Graham enlisted in the Army in July 2019 and came to Fort Bliss five months later after completing combat training in Missouri and South Carolina.

Fort Bliss is just the latest Army base to face intense scrutiny in recent months, joinging the likes of Fort Hood, where another young female soldier Vanessa Guillen was murdered, and Fort Bragg, for a series of sexual assault claims and deaths.

A baby girl has died after swallowing a tiny button battery which began generating electricity inside her and eroded through her tissues, causing terrible burns.

Reese Smith, 1, died last Thursday, Dec 17, weeks after taking the button battery out of a remote control at her home in Lubbock, Texas, and swallowing it.

Reese suffered severe burns to her throat, oesophagus and vocal cords.

Pediatrician Dr Thomas McGill, who treated Reese, said the youngster’s mucus membrane had been burned “completely black, as if you were roasting a marshmallow.”

Dr McGill, who treated Reese at University Medical Center in Lubbock, explained that one side of the flat battery has a positive charge, while the other has a negative charge. So, the battery began generating electricity after settling in the child’s oesophagus, before eroding through the oesophagus and settling in her airway.

Reese’s mother Trista, a hairdresser, noticed her daughter could not stop coughing last month, and feared she may have swallowed the battery after noticing a remote whose back had been taken off.

Trista rushed her daughter to hospital, where an x-ray confirmed her worst fears.

Reese was later transferred to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. There, she underwent multiple surgeries to remove the battery and try and repair the damage to her insides.

Unfortunately, the toddler eventually succumbed to her injuries despite surgeons’ best efforts to save her.

A mum has become the first woman in the UK to give birth to triplets from two different wombs.

Melanie Bassett, 32, was already a mum-of-two but was left stunned when doctors made the discovery that she was carrying identical babies in one of her wombs and another child in a second womb.

The parent first discovered she had two wombs when she was pregnant with her first child Phoebe, now three, in 2016.

Along with her husband Ben, 33, Melanie, from Hampshire, then welcomed their first son Blake into the world in 2019.

But in January this year, the couple were amazed to welcome triplets, Brooke, Isabelle and Beau.

Mum gives birth to triplets from two different wombs

Having twins from two wombs, commonly known as uterus didelphys, is estimated to be a one in a million occurrence. And Melanie is thought to be the first example of the rare case in the UK.

Melanie has uterus didelphys which also creates the possibility of a second vagina. Rather than looking like a regular womb, the mum’s womb is heart-shaped with two chambers.

The condition doesn’t make it harder for a woman to conceive but it increases the risk of a miscarriage or premature birth. The mum had her first and second children via C-section.

Then two months after welcoming her second chid via CS, Melanie discovered she was pregnant again. It wasn’t until the 12-week scan where the sonographer told the couple they were expecting triplets in separate wombs.

Melanie and Ben were advised to go for scans every fortnight so doctors can keep an eye on the pregnancy.

The triplets were eventually born via C-section at 32 weeks on January 26 this year.

An Instagram wannabe star has been detained on suspicion of killing her mother by allegedly cutting out her heart and other organs while she was still alive during a frenzied knife attack.

The suspect, Anna Leikovic, 21, of Moldova, gouged out the internal organs including her lungs and intestines with a kitchen knife, it is alleged.

She then washed the blood off in the shower and went to meet her boyfriend for a date, according to reports. The woman, who is a medical student, is “suspected of committing a terrible crime,” reported Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, citing police in Comrat.

Leikovic initially stabbed her mother Praskovya Leikovic, 40, at home, but she remained alive. The medical student then went on to cut out her heart while she was still alive.

‘She stabbed her mother with a knife and then cut out the heart of a living woman,’ the police source reportedly said.

The suspect ‘decided to rip the heart out of the chest of a dying woman. It is hard to believe but she cut out the heart in the most literal sense of the word.’ Leikovic then gouged out her mum’s other internal organs including her lungs and intestines with a kitchen knife, it is alleged.

The medical student, who has 9,400 followers on Instagram, appeared in court after being detained the day following her mum’s horrific death. Video footage showed her bizarrely lying unbothered down in the dock, cleaning her nails, before standing on a bench when the judge entered the court.

When asked by a journalist if she had slaughtered and mutilated her mum, Leikovic reportedly laughed and replied ‘goodbye’ .Police spokeswoman Lyubov Yanak said: “The detainee is the main suspect.”

She added that no one else was suspected of being involved in the brutal killing and mutilation, but “a thorough investigation is required to clarify the motive for the murder”.

According to media reports, Praskovya had returned home from her job in Germany. It’s understood that she feared her daughter was on drugs and then arranged treatment to help Leikovic, who then allegedly became angry, and violent.

Her uncle told reporters: “Praskovya loved her daughter so much, and she spent as much time with her as she could.

“It took two hours for the police to tell me Anna is the main suspect. I could not even imagine this.”

A woman took to Twitter to announce she’s in search of a surrogate mum and Nigerians have a lot to say about the requirements and the payment.

The Twitter user said the surrogate mum will be paid 1.2 million Naira for the embryo transfer, carrying the baby to term, and giving birth.

She specified that birth must be through CS.

To apply,  the woman must be above 160cm in height, must have been pregnant before and must be “good looking”. Other requirements include genotype and blood group.

Nigerians react as woman announces search for a surrogate who will give birth via CS for N1.2 million

Twitter users reacted saying the amount the surrogate mum will be paid is too small for what is required of her.

Some pointed out that the embryo transfer process is painful, tasking, and sometimes lengthy as they may have to try multiple times before success is recorded. They also pointed out the changes to the woman’s body for 9 months and how she will be unable to live a normal life during that period.

To make matters worse, she has to suffer the pain of the incision scars and may take too long to heal from the CS surgery.
