OPRAH WINFREY OPENS UP ON NOT GETTING MARRIED OR HAVING KIDS

Oprah Winfrey has opened up about why she never got married or had children.

In an interview with People Magazine for its Women Changing the World issue, Oprah Winfrey says although marriage and motherhood weren’t exactly in her cards, she did consider it at one time.

“At one point in Chicago I had bought an additional apartment because I was thinking, Well, if we get married, I’m going to need room for children,” Oprah said.

However, due to the demands of her talk show, “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Oprah said she started to think of the depth of responsibility and sacrifice that is actually required to be a mother.

“I realized, ‘Whoa, I’m talking to a lot of messed-up people, and they are messed up because they had mothers and fathers who were not aware of how serious that job is.”

Oprah’s longtime boyfriend, Stedman Graham, 68, also agrees that being married would have changed their relationship.

“Both he and I now say, ‘If we had married, we would not be together, no question about it.” she said.

Looking back, she says she made the right decision.

“I believe that part of the reason why I don’t have regrets is because I got to fulfill it in the way that was best for me: the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa,” she said. “Those girls fill that maternal fold that I perhaps would have had. In fact, they overfill I’m overflowed with maternal,” she added.

“I WAS TERRIFIED I WOULD LOSE THIS BABY”… AMERICAN TV HOST, TAMRON HALL ON HAVING A BABY AT AGE 48

American television host Tamron Hall is opening up about giving birth at 48 and some of the complications she face.

Tamron and her son Moses, whom she welcomed on April 24 with her husband Steven Greener, appears on the cover of this week’s PEOPLE magazine.

“I knew that the clock was not on my side,” Tamron Hall tells PEOPLE, saying Moses’ birth was worth every bit of time, effort and patience it took.

Before Moses’ birth, Tamron wasn’t so sure his arrival was even possible.

“I was high-risk, not just because of my age, but there were other medical factors too,” she said.

Tamron revealed she was pregnant in March when the pregnancy was 32 weeks.

“My doctor said, ‘This is your body, your health. You share of your journey what you want to share.’ I was terrified I would lose this baby and I would have to go back and tell everyone that now it was bad news, and after this pregnancy had gone so far,” she recalls

“I just wasn’t mentally prepared to deal with that,” she continues. “That’s why I waited. And trust me — if I could’ve gone the whole way to delivery, I would’ve.”

Tamron also opened up about trying fertility treatments in her 30s, which failed, and she tried again in her 40s.

“I knew that the clock was not on my side. When I tried in my 30s, I still felt like I had some time, and the fertility clinic felt like a bright room. In my 40s I saw all the gray: The faces looked gray, the walls were gray, nothing seemed shiny and optimistic.”

“Just like with my job search during that time, there were so many frustrations: I’m putting in the work, I’m taking care of my mind and my body and I’m being rejected,” she continues. “I’m thinking, ‘Wait a minute. What have I done wrong here?’ Somehow, like Rocky, I kept getting up.”

On the career front, Tamron is getting ready to host her own syndicated talk show, set to premiere on September 9. She had left her spot on NBC’s Todayshow in February 2017.

“When I left NBC, I said, ‘I look forward to the next chapter.’ People assumed that I meant work, and I did, but by the third month I knew that my life had to be about something bigger than work.

“My story is not one I could’ve ever expected. Two and a half years ago when I walked out of that NBC building, I was in a fog, not knowing that so many of us lose things we think are important, and we have no idea that something better is right there.

“I’m from the South, and there’s a saying: ‘It’s not a setback; it’s a setup for something else.’ That loss set me up for, yes, a dream job but also my baby, my husband, my family. I just couldn’t see it coming,” she says.

MEET THE FIVE FRIENDS WHO WERE BRIDESMAIDS IN EACH OTHER’S WEDDING AND ARE NOW U.S STATE SENATORS

Kerry Donovan, Tammy Story, Faith Winter, Jessie Danielson and Brittany Pettersen, “The Fab Five,” are all longtime friends, serving as bridesmaids in each other’s weddings, and now they’ve all been elected as state senators in Colorado.

The women supported each other during their campaign, Winter shared while speaking to People. She said:

Through the campaign, the five of us were very supportive of each other. We had several text chains where we would check in with one another and see how we were doing.”

If a particularly bad ad or piece of mail came out. We would reassure each other on the text chain, “Have you seen the mail? It’s so awful, how are you doing?”

Danielson shared that the wins were “pretty amazing,” and her and her friends “were all in it together.”

Donovan discussed how it was important to have friends who were going through the same struggles, who could relate with the difficult parts of the journey.

Our families are incredibly supportive, but it’s not their name on the thousands of pieces of mail going out or on the TV. So being able to talk to them, and they are going through the exact same thing, it was so supportive.

HAILEY BALDWIN TRADEMARKS HER NEW NAME ‘HAILEY BEIBER’ AFTER TYING THE KNOT WITH JUSTIN BIEBER

21-year-old Model, Hailey Baldwin who is now married to 24-year-old singer, Justin Bieber, is reported to have trademarked her married name ‘Hailey Beiber’.

In court documents revealed by People, it was confirmed that she trademarked the name “Hailey Bieber” for the purposes of a clothing line, as was her maiden name and “HRB3.”

A source close to Justin also revealed that the wedding was her idea, saying:

Hailey is a very bright girl. She’s not just blindly adoring Justin and doing whatever he wants. She’s wanted to be with Justin for a very long time.

The city hall marriage was her idea. It was ‘You and me against the world.Let’s show [everyone] we’re serious and it’s not just some crazy fling.’

SELENA GOMEZ ADMITTED IN HOSPITAL AFTER HAVING AN EMOTIONAL BREAKDOWN

PEOPLE reports that the award-winning singer had been admitted to the hospital after suffering from low white blood cells, which is related to patients with Kidney transplants.

However, while in the hospital, Selena broke down and is now being treated for an emotional breakdown.

“She has had a tough few weeks and the panic attack in the hospital was the tipping point,” a source tells PEOPLE.

“She realized she needed to seek additional help for her ongoing emotional issues. She’s surrounded by close family and has a lot of support. She’s doing better now and is seeking treatment on the East Coast,” the source also told PEOPLE.

According to PEOPLE, Selena is presently undergoing dialectical behavior therapy, a therapy method designed to help try to identify, and then change, negative thinking and behavioral patterns.

It would be recalled that back in 2017, Selena Gomez had a successful kidney transplant which was donated by her best friend.

As Mary J. Blige‘s marriage to Kendu Isaacs collapsed, she was also tackling the role of a lifetime. The singer was tapped to play Florence Jackson in Dee Rees’ film adaption of the novel Mudbound, which was immediately met with Oscar buzz when it premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January.

However, her personal life was falling apart during filming.
“I used a lot of my own heaviness from my own misery that I was living in that horrible marriage,” Blige told Variety. “I was just dying in it. I knew something was wrong. I just couldn’t prove it. I just had all the heaviness of not feeling right, not feeling good. I gave it to Florence.”
In July 2016, Blige cited irreconcilable differences as grounds for divorce and has asked to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support to Isaacs.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE in May, Blige claimed Isaacs spent more than $420,000 during their marriage on “travel charges” that involved a woman he was having an affair with, not her.

Blige also claimed that Isaacs drives a Mercedes that she pre-paid the lease on and that he refused to turn over possession of her “Grammy and other achievement awards.”
The singer said she has long been the only bread-winner in the family and she is burdened with all of the debts, which she claimed total more than $10,000,000.

While the couple have no children together, Blige has been a stepmother to Isaacs’ three kids – Briana, Jordan and Nas – from a former relationship since they wed in 2003.

“I’m doing OK,” the signer told the magazine. “I’m living. I’m not happy about a lot of things. I thought someone loved me, right? Turns out, he was a con artist and he didn’t, and now he’s coming after me for all my money. When you come out of something like that, you realize you were never the one. There was someone else that was his queen. I got played. I got suckered. I have to keep smiling and keep my spirits up because this is designed to kill me.”

Blige, 46, said the most difficult part of acting came in the scenes where she was intimate with her on-screen husband, actor Rob Morgan.
“I was married. I never touched another man other than my husband,” she said. “I was petrified. ‘Oh God. I don’t want to do it.’”
After a chat with Rees, Blige decided to fully give herself over.
“You know what, Mary?” she told herself. “This is the job. This is acting. You’ve got to commit.”
Blige also stripped down to the made-under version of herself needed to play the role.
“I had to surrender and commit completely to Florence, like the little ugly boots she was wearing every day and those dresses,” she said. “We couldn’t wear makeup. We couldn’t have nails. We couldn’t do eyelashes. I was stripped down to the bare necessities of Mary. And that really helped me because people were saying things like, ‘Gosh — you’re so beautiful.’ It helped my self-esteem.”
