Two weeks ago, Nigeria’s first female skeleton athlete, Simidele Adeagbo made history when she became the African woman to qualify for the Winter Olympics in that category. She will be joining Nigeria’s other history-making athletes, The Ice Blazers, in PyeongChang, South Korea next month.
Well, just like Beats by Dre did with The Ice Blazers a week ago, Nike just released a short film which celebrates Simidele’s historic achievement.

The 40-second clip, Forever First, is narrated by New York Times best-selling author and fellow Nigerian, Luvvie Ajayi
“Being first, it doesn’t always last. But being the first to go where they said you shouldn’t…that lasts forever”, says Ajayi in a powerful voice-over.
Speaking about the film and Simi, the brand director of Nike South Africa, Alissa Jenkins said:
