Legendary British-Nigerian singer, Sade Adu released her last studio album, Soldier Of Love in 2010, scoring a deserved Grammy win for its titular track.

The four-time Grammy winner makes a major come-back as she creates an original song for Ava DuVernay’s highly-anticipated Disney movie, A Wrinkle in Time  the first $100 million film directed by a woman of color.

Sade’s song, titled “Flower of the Universe”, will be part of the movie’s official soundtrack — which will also feature original music from Demi Lovato, Chloe x Halle, Kehlani, DJ Khaled, Sia and Freestyle Fellowship.

Based on the beloved 1962 novel of the same name, A Wrinkle in Time follows a young girl who sets off on a quest — with the help of three astral travellers — to find her father, who went missing after discovering a new planet. The movie stars Oprah Winfrey, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and many more.

Sharing the news of Sade’s musical contribution on Twitter, DuVernay said:

“I never thought she’d say yes, but asked anyway. She was kind [and] giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I’ll never forget.”

No official release date for the soundtrack has been announced, but A Wrinkle in Time is set to hit theatres on March 9.
